You don't know me & I realize this is kind of odd, but... My son is now serving in the Salvador mission. As soon as my son got his call, I starting looking for & reading blogs, for whatever reason, this is the only one I've actually kept up with. Long story short, even though I felt like a creeper, I continued to read. I got an email a few weeks ago from my Missionary talking about how he had stayed at the Mission Home over night with his companion. He said he got woken up early Sat morning by an assistant & asked if he wanted to go play basketball (my son's FAVORITE... that's probably the one thing he misses the most...). Anyway, as we were "talking", I mentioned Elder Pollard & how I had been following his blog, by any chance had he had the opportunity to meet him. Turns out the assistant that woke him up was Elder Pollard!!!! I just want to thank you for making the effort & reaching out to my newbie. It was something that meant a LOT to Elder Chastain, & to me. <3
ReplyDeleteBrynn,
DeleteThank you so much for sharing this! Elder Pollard is my brother. We love hearing stories from others about the things that he does.
I'll be sure to share this with him. How long has your son been out?
